
BATALÁ at Virágkarnevál 2025 | Debrecen – Hungary
Batalá Mundo is once again honored to be invited to the Virágkarnevál – the Flower Carnival – in Debrecen, Hungary, following the resounding success of last year’s unforgettable performances!
Building on the energy and rhythm that captivated audiences in previous years, we’re excited to bring even more vibrancy and spirit to this year’s celebration. In the week preceding the Notting Hill Carnival, we will come together for two action-packed days filled with rehearsals, gigs, parades and some free time.
This short yet intense gathering will once again feature the incredible Mestre Giba and other distinguished guests from around the world, ensuring a celebration filled with electrifying performances and camaraderie. Let’s make this year even more spectacular!
Program Overview
- 18th: Arrival and group dinner
- 19th:
- 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Workshop with Mestre Giba (Location shared in WhatsApp group)
- Afternoon: Performance outside the city (Please follow updates in the WhatsApp group)
- 20th: Parade Day (same format as last year) + Evening Parade
- 21st: Departure

Free Time Activities
During your free time, you can enjoy the vibrant Beer by Lake festival or relax at the Debrecen Aquaticum Spa and Wellness Center, which offers great facilities at affordable prices. Both are fantastic options to make the most of your leisure time!
Batalá Set List
The set list for Debrecen Flower Carnival 2025 will be announced soon. It is likely to mirror the set list from the Notting Hill Carnival 2025, but stay tuned for updates.
Accommodation
Participants will be accommodated in dormitories designed to house six people. Each dormitory includes two separate triple rooms with shared bathroom facilities.
Meals are provided at the accommodation site, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Catering will begin with dinner on August 18th and end with breakfast on August 21st.

Coach Services: Budapest to Debrecen and Back
To ensure smooth transportation, coaches will be available on August 18th for transfers from Budapest Airport to Debrecen and on August 21st for the return journey to Budapest.
The cost of the coach service is included in the event fee. Please note that exact departure times will be announced closer to the event, and we aim to coordinate schedules based on participants‘ flight arrival times. (we have fixed bus departures this year ?)
Budapest to Debrecen
- 3 p.m. from Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport
- 3 p.m. from Budapest Keleti train station
Debrecen to Budapest
- 8 a.m. to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport
- 8 a.m. to Budapest Keleti train station
In the registration form, kindly specify whether you would like to reserve a seat on the coach.
Drums
We aim to provide drums to as many participants as possible, though we cannot guarantee fulfilling every request. If possible, please bring your own drum to the event.
If you wish to borrow a drum, send an email to batamobile@batala.at explaining your request. Priority will be given to participants traveling from overseas regions like the Americas due to higher expenses and logistical challenges in transporting their own instruments.
Please note that any damage caused to borrowed drums will be the responsibility of the user.
Costs & payment
The participation cost for the event is EUR 75
Any bank charges incurred during the transfer must be paid by the participant.
Please ensure that the currency of your transaction is EURO (€) and select the option to pay all bank fees if you make a transaction from outside the SEPA region, otherwise you might need to make an additional payment for the fees.
Very important: only individual payments will be accepted, and group payments will not be processed.
It is essential to provide the participant’s name, the name of the band, and the event name when making the money transfer.
For example: “Bugs Bunny – Batala XXXXX/Debrecen 2025”.
